Newly appointed Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has intensified preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup by embarking on a European tour to monitor Ghanaian players and strengthen squad cohesion.
Queiroz, who was introduced as head coach in Accra last week, started his job by watching the Black Galaxies in Ghana. He then left for Europe last Sunday to keep evaluating players for the tournament.
On his tour, Queiroz has already met with senior players in the squad. He wants to build a strong leadership group for Ghana’s World Cup run.
He also plans to meet more senior players and up-and-coming talents while watching matches with Ghanaian internationals in different European leagues.
This trip is a key part of his plan to share his football ideas, check how players are performing, and start building his tactics for the World Cup.
Members of Queiroz’s technical team are helping with scouting and player connections during the tour.
This will be Ghana’s fifth time at the FIFA World Cup, which takes place in June across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Black Stars are in Group L with England, Croatia, and Panama, making for a tough group stage.
