Black Stars legends to lead KN Foundation charity outreach at Nsawam Prison

Former Black Stars players are set to engage inmates of the Nsawam Medium Security Prison in a friendly football match on Thursday, May 21, 2026, as part of an outreach initiative to offer hope, encouragement, and support to prisoners.

Organised by the KN Foundation alongside the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana and the Ghana Football Association, the event promises a lively blend of football, music, health screenings, and generous donations.

The National Health Insurance Scheme will join the effort by enrolling uninsured inmates, reinforcing the event’s focus on rehabilitation, inclusion, and building meaningful connections.

The centerpiece of the day will be an exhibition match featuring former Black Stars legends facing off against inmates in a spirited display of camaraderie and sportsmanship.

To further uplift the inmates, organizers will donate 100 bags of rice, cooking oil, 24 footballs, and sets of jerseys, nurturing both well-being and the love of sport behind prison walls.

Several notable football personalities are expected to attend, including Ghana legend Abedi Ayew, former FC Bayern Munich defender Samuel Kuffour, GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, and former Black Stars players Anthony Baffoe, Augustine Arhinful, and Yussif Chibsah.

Also expected at the event are Abdul Salam Yakubu of New Edubiase United FC and Ahmed Kwabena Nkrumah of Port City FC.

The occasion will also feature performances from Ghanaian musicians, including D Cryme, Praye, Stay Jay, and Patapaa.

This initiative is part of a larger movement to harness the power of sports and entertainment, transforming them into tools for rehabilitation, social inclusion, and emotional upliftment among inmates.
