Ghana will leave their training base in Rhode Island on Thursday and head to Philadelphia as they get ready for Saturday’s important Group L match against Croatia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars had a recovery session at Bryant University on Wednesday, less than a day after their strong defensive performance helped them earn a goalless draw against England at Gillette Stadium.
Carlos Queiroz’s team goes into the last group match tied on four points with England, after winning one game and drawing another in their first two matches.
If Ghana beats Croatia at Lincoln Financial Field, they will move on to the Round of 32. Even a draw might be enough, depending on other results and the rankings of the best third-placed teams.
The team will have one training session in Philadelphia on Friday before Saturday’s important match.
Confidence remains high in the Ghana camp following the disciplined performance against England, with Benjamin Asare, Jerome Opoku, and Kwasi Sibo among the standout performers.
Even with the good atmosphere, Queiroz has told his players to stay focused.
“We have not won anything yet. Points at this World Cup are terribly expensive,” the Portuguese coach said.
Midfielder Kwasi Sibo is also aiming for a win against Croatia. He says the Black Stars want to finish first in Group L and go into the knockout stage with momentum.
