lack Stars midfielder Kwasi Sibo says Ghana is determined to finish top of Group L at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after their hard-fought goalless draw against England.
The Black Stars earned a valuable point at Boston Stadium on Tuesday, leaving both teams level on four points after two group matches.
Reflecting on the performance, the 26-year-old credited head coach Carlos Queiroz’s tactical approach and praised his teammates for executing the game plan.
“The coach told us to stay compact, fight for each other, and be mentally strong because we were playing against a great team,” Sibo said.
“I think we followed his instructions perfectly and did the job.”
With qualification to the Round of 32 within reach, Sibo insists Ghana’s focus is firmly on beating Croatia rather than settling for a draw.
“I believe we’re going to take all three points. We want to finish as group leaders, and we’re not looking back,” he added.
The midfielder acknowledged Ghana’s defensive approach against England but believes the Black Stars will be more adventurous in their final group match.
“Against England, we defended a lot and still created a chance that could have won us the game. Against Croatia, we’ll give everything for the nation.”
Ghana face Croatia on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field, knowing that victory would secure qualification for the Round of 32 and likely see them finish top of Group L.
