Accra Hearts of Oak Board Member Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe will expose rampant corruption in the Ghana Premier League.
He asserts that he holds substantial evidence against club officials involved in match-fixing and other unethical behaviors.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, in an interview with Graphic Sports, disclosed his ongoing compilation of a comprehensive dossier containing evidence to support his claims.
“I’m delving deep into our past Premier League matches and will publicly reveal some of them with supporting documents and pictures,” he announced.”
Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe revealed that he knew about cases where officials had contacted players before games, making bribery offers to influence their performance or show bias towards the opposing team.
He mentioned that players have openly admitted to falling prey to pressure from managers of various clubs to commit wrongdoing for their team.
The former Ghana Football Association (GFA) boss addressed comments made by FC Samartex General Manager Edmund Ackah regarding his competence in club management.
Ackah stated on Oyerepa FM, “Could Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe manage Hearts of Oak and compete with me in the league?”
In response to these comments, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe pointed out his extensive experience in football administration, which spans over five decades, even though it is not his primary profession.
He reaffirmed his conviction that a lack of discipline and people abusing the sport by posing as managers have tainted football.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe reflected on the time of respected football administrators like H.P. Nyametei, Kwasi Asante Sakyi, Alhaji Tijani, Dr. Eugene Quayenor, Ambassador Osekere, Mr. Harry Sawyer, Nana Wereko Ampem, Mr. D.S. Quacopome, Mr. J.S. Addo, S.K. Manu, and B.K. Adusei maintained high standards in football administration in Ghana.
He advised today’s football managers to learn from these past leaders and avoid resorting to corruption to succeed.
