Panama line up Brazil friendly before Ghana World Cup opener

Panama national football team has scheduled a tough three-game preparation series ahead of their opening match against Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada.

Head coach Thomas Christiansen has already unveiled his final 26-man squad for the tournament, with the Central American side set to face quality opposition as part of their final build-up to the Mundial.

Los Canaleros will kick off their preparations with a marquee friendly against the five-time world champions Brazil national football team, at the iconic Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

They will then return home to face the Dominican Republic national football team at Estadio Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez. They will conclude their warm-up schedule against the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team at Energizer Park in the United States.

After the friendlies, Panama will move to their training camp in Ontario to finalize preparations for the tournament. Christiansen is expected to use the matches to evaluate his squad and fine-tune his tactics before the competition.

Panama has been placed in a difficult Group L alongside Ghana, England, and Croatia. They will begin their World Cup campaign against the Black Stars on June 17 at Toronto Stadium.

Meanwhile, Ghana has stepped up preparations under head coach Carlos Queiroz. The Black Stars are holding a training camp in Cardiff ahead of an international friendly against Wales on June 2 before traveling to North America for the tournament.
