FIFA officially announces Ghana’s training base for the 2026 World Cup

FIFA has announced that the Ghana national football team will call Bryant University in the Boston area home during the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The announcement forms part of FIFA’s confirmation of all 48 Team Base Camp Training Sites that will host participating nations throughout the expanded tournament across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Bryant University will transform into Ghana’s headquarters during the group phase, offering top-notch facilities for players, coaches, and support staff as they chase World Cup glory.

The Black Stars have been placed in Group L and will open their campaign against Panama in Toronto before facing England in Boston and Croatia in Philadelphia.

By choosing a base near Boston, Ghana aims to minimize travel fatigue ahead of its crucial second group-stage clash with England, set to unfold in Massachusetts.

FIFA described Team Base Camps as a key component of the World Cup experience, providing teams with a “home away from home” during the tournament.

“Team Base Camps are an essential part of every FIFA World Cup,” said FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Operating Officer Heimo Schirgi.

“They are the places where teams settle, train, recover, and adapt to the daily rhythm of the competition.”

The selection process began in 2024, with qualified nations choosing from more than 60 training site options across North America following the World Cup draw in December 2025.

Out of the 48 participating countries, 39 teams selected bases in the United States, seven chose Mexico, and two opted for Canada.

For Ghana, Bryant University will serve as the beating heart of their campaign, where coach Carlos Queiroz and his squad set their sights on making a powerful statement and advancing in the tournament.
