Jordan Ayew has reached another milestone in his international career by becoming only the fourth Ghanaian to play in three FIFA World Cup tournaments.
The 34-year-old forward reached this milestone during Ghana’s 1-0 win over Panama in their first Group L match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Toronto.
This appearance was Ayew’s third time playing at the World Cup, after representing the Black Stars in 2014 in Brazil and in 2022 in Qatar.
With this achievement, Jordan joins a select group of Ghanaian football legends—Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari, and his older brother Andre Ayew—who have all played in three FIFA World Cups.
Ayew started his World Cup journey in 2014 as a young talent in Ghana’s squad in Brazil. He returned eight years later to play an important role for the Black Stars in Qatar, and now he has made his third appearance in Canada in 2026.
This milestone shows Ayew’s long-lasting presence, steady performance, and dedication to the national team over the years.
Since his senior debut for Ghana, he has been an important part of the Black Stars, playing in several Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup tournaments.
Jordan comes from one of Ghana’s most famous football families and has carried on the proud legacy started by his father, Abedi Pele, and his brother, Andre Ayew.
By joining his brother in the select group of players with three World Cup appearances, Jordan has added another memorable chapter to the Ayew family’s impact on Ghanaian football.
As the Black Stars continue their quest at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Ayew’s latest achievement reflects his dedication, resilience, and enduring impact in Ghana’s national colors.
