Aston Villa lifted the Europa League trophy in Istanbul, delivering a commanding 3-0 triumph over SC Freiburg to claim European glory.
This victory handed Unai Emery his fifth Europa League crown, solidifying his legendary status in the competition. Jubilant Villa fans erupted in celebration, both in Beşiktaş Stadium and across England, finally witnessing their club return to a European final after a 44-year wait.

Dazzling first-half goals from Youri Tielemans and Emiliano Buendía ignited the atmosphere, setting the stage for an unforgettable night.
Tielemans broke the deadlock with a breathtaking volley, latching onto Morgan Rogers’ clever short corner and showcasing flawless technique and pinpoint accuracy.

Just moments later, Buendía doubled Villa’s lead with a spectacular curling shot from the edge of the box, sending the ball soaring into the top corner and leaving Freiburg reeling after a subdued start.
Villa put the result beyond doubt in the 58th minute as Rogers darted to the near post to finish off Buendía’s precise cross, making it 3-0.

Emery’s side delivered a masterclass in tactics and technique, overwhelming their Bundesliga opponents from start to finish.
The scoreline might have been even more emphatic. Amadou Onana rattled the post with a powerful header from a John McGinn corner, and Buendía later drilled a shot into the side netting after another sublime pass from Tielemans.
From the moment they seized the lead, Villa dictated the tempo, with captain McGinn orchestrating the midfield as Freiburg searched in vain for opportunities.

The German side’s closest opportunity came when Johan Manzambi forced a superb save from Emiliano Martínez with a close-range header, although the offside flag was eventually raised.
