Joseph Paintsil expressed his joy after scoring on his return from injury, helping LA Galaxy secure a comeback draw against FC Dallas.
The 28-year-old forward had been sidelined for six weeks but made an immediate impact by creating and scoring in the 2-2 draw. He set up Lucas Sanabria for Galaxy’s first goal, then scored himself moments later to cancel out Petar Musa’s brace for Dallas.
Reflecting on his return, Paintsil admitted the injury period had been difficult but was pleased to contribute positively.
“It’s been a tough season for me after being out for almost six weeks. Injuries are part of football, even though no player wants them. Scoring today makes me feel really good,” he said.
He added that the goal has boosted his confidence ahead of upcoming matches, while praising the team’s effort in earning a point.
“It gives me energy and confidence going into the next game. The team worked hard for this point, and I’m grateful to be fit again and get minutes against Dallas,” he noted.
The goal marked Paintsil’s first in the league this season, as the 2024 champions look to build momentum in their push for a playoff return.
