Feyenoord Rotterdam has secured the services of Matthew Amoah Jr, son of former Ghana International Matthew Amoah, by signing him to his first professional contract until 2027
Under the supervision of family and friends, the 15-year-old signed a three-year contract with the Dutch team after making a strong impression in the club’s youth ranks.
Amoah Jr., who moved to Feyenoord from NAC Breda in 2018, has been steadily progressing. His enthusiasm for the future is palpable, as he shares, “I am filled with pride to have signed my first contract with Feyenoord.” His goal for the next season is clear: to progress in his development and contribute to his team’s success by creating scoring opportunities and finding the back of the net.
Amoah Jr’s football journey began with Baronie’s amateur team in Breda, a stepping stone that led him to the Feyenoord Academy as a young player. After the summer break, the midfielder will transition to Feyenoord Under-17, having played in all the top youth teams.
His father, Amoah Sr, had already gained recognition in the Netherlands, having played for NAC Breda and Vitesse Arnhem. He played for the Black Stars at the national level, earning 45 caps and scoring 12 goals. He represented Ghana in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.
