Le Havre signs Ghana captain Andre Ayew for second stint

Following the expiry of his contract with Le Havre AC last season, Ghana’s captain, Andre Ayew, has now rejoined the Ligue 1 side.
Having played for Olympique de Marseille, Swansea City, West Ham United, and Nottingham Forest, the 34-year-old forward had a short spell with Le Havre in the previous season.
Ayew played a significant role by scoring five goals in 19 Ligue 1 matches, helping the team maintain their position in the top division. Despite his contributions, Le Havre’s contract was not initially extended.
Due to the team’s difficulty scoring—it has only scored seven goals this season—Le Havre opted to bring Ayew back.
The seasoned forward had communicated his wish to continue with the team, and he recently inked a contract that guarantees his presence at Le Havre until the end of the season.
Ayew is looking to significantly contribute to Le Havre’s campaign, especially given the club’s struggles in scoring. Through his strong performances, he has the opportunity to elevate the team’s fortunes and reignite his chances of making a comeback to the Black Stars.
His recent absence from the national team has sparked discussions about his future with Ghana, and performing well at the club level could be crucial for earning a recall for upcoming international fixtures.
