The board and management of Asante Kotoko have apologized to supporters as concerns grow over the team’s recent performances and the absence of a permanent head coach.
Communications Director Sarfo Duku said in a statement that the club understands results have not met expectations and that fans’ frustration is understandable.
“The board and management recognize the concerns of our supporters regarding the lack of a substantive head coach and the team’s recent poor form,” the statement said, adding that the club knows fans expect high standards.
The club’s leaders said they are working to hire a permanent head coach who aligns with the club’s long-term vision and asked fans to be patient during this process.
They also said they are sorry for the team’s recent struggles and promised that work is being done to make the team stronger again.
“The future of this club remains our top priority, and we are committed to making the right decisions going forward,” the statement added, encouraging fans to keep supporting the team for the rest of the season.
This apology comes at a tough time for the Porcupine Warriors, who have struggled to find consistency in the Ghana Premier League. After losing 4-0 to Medeama SC, Kotoko will now focus on their Matchday 30 game against Hohoe United, followed by an away match against Dreams FC in Matchday 31.
