Black Stars winger Ernest Nuamah has shared the struggles of his long road to recovery, expressing heartfelt gratitude to Ghanaians for their steadfast support and prayers as he eagerly anticipates his debut on football’s grandest stage.
From Ghana’s training camp in Cardiff, ahead of the friendly against Wales, the 22-year-old reflected on his tough journey back to fitness, admitting it has tested him at every turn.
“Suffering the injury was difficult for me. I’ve put in a lot of hard work to get back to this stage, and I’m eager to give everything I have,” Nuamah said.
After a year away from the pitch, the winger voiced deep appreciation to Ghanaian supporters who stood by him through every step of his recovery.
“To all Ghanaians, I want to say thank you for your support and prayers. Your encouragement has played a huge role in helping me get back to where I am today,” he added.
Nuamah also highlighted the need to embrace head coach Carlos Queiroz’s vision and applauded his teammates’ dedication as the Black Stars intensify their World Cup preparations.
“The task ahead will be challenging, but with commitment, discipline, and hard work, we can achieve something special. With the continued support and prayers of Ghanaians, I believe we can make a strong impact,” he said.
Ghana has been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia, with the Black Stars set to begin their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17.
Having conquered a challenging spell away from the game, Nuamah is now driven to seize his moment and shine on football’s biggest stage.
