Carlos Queiroz names final 26-man Black Stars squad for 2026 World Cup

Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has unveiled Ghana’s final 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, finalizing his selections ahead of the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Goalkeepers Paul Reverson and Solomon Agbasi narrowly missed out on the final squad, as the Portuguese coach chose to keep faith with every outfield player from his provisional list.

The final squad blends seasoned stars like Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew, Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, and Kamaldeen Sulemana with a new generation of exciting prospects, including Caleb Yirenkyi, Kwasi Sibo, Prince Kwabena Adu, and Jonas Adjetey.

Guarding the net, Queiroz has placed his trust in Benjamin Asare, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, and Joseph Anang to handle goalkeeping responsibilities throughout the tournament.

The defensive lineup features Baba Abdul Rahman, Gideon Mensah, Alidu Seidu, Abdul Mumin, and Jerome Opoku, with Derrick Luckassen seizing his chance amid questions over Alexander Djiku’s fitness.

In midfield, Thomas Partey and Elisha Owusu bring valuable experience, while Caleb Yirenkyi, Kwasi Sibo, Augustine Boakye, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku inject fresh energy and ambition.

Leading the charge up front, Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Ernest Nuamah, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Brandon Thomas-Asante will aim to leave a lasting mark as the Black Stars chase glory on football’s grandest stage.

The team’s preparations continue with a high-profile friendly against Wales in Cardiff on June 2, followed by a final test against Jamaica on June 10 to wrap up their pre-World Cup journey.

Placed in Group L, Ghana will kick off its World Cup adventure against Panama on June 17, then face England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.

With the final squad set, all eyes now turn to the last warm-up matches as Queiroz sharpens his side for Ghana’s eagerly awaited fifth World Cup appearance.
