The Black Stars will be in America – Stephen Appiah convinced

Stephen Appiah, the vice chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, is confident that Ghana will qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
With a 3-0 win against Madagascar in Morocco on Monday, Ghana now has a five-point advantage in Group I.
A 3-0 win against Madagascar followed a 5-0 thrashing of Chad in Accra on Friday.
With four games remaining in the 2026 World Cup qualifying, Ghana’s wins have solidified their place in Group I.
After two World Cups and captaining Ghana to its first in 2006, Appiah joined the Black Stars’ technical staff in January as part of a team restructuring.
In a post-match interview with 3Sports, Appiah voiced his optimism about Ghana’s World Cup bid, urging Ghanaians to support the Black Stars after their strong win over Madagascar.
“We still have four games to play. It was amazing when we played against Chad; we were not expecting something like that. So bring back the love.
“We thank them for their support; they’ve been amazing. They should continue praying for us and the team, and we will be in America,” he added.
Leading Group I, Ghana is well-placed for a fifth World Cup appearance, having previously qualified for the 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022 tournaments.
The United States, Mexico, and Canada will host the 2026 World Cup jointly.
