Kofi Adams confirms that Ghana has secured broadcast rights for the 2026 World Cup

Football supporters across Ghana will be able to watch every match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup live after the government secured television broadcast rights for the tournament with the backing of an ongoing fundraising campaign.

The announcement was made by Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams during an event held to unveil a major financial contribution toward the Black Stars’ World Cup preparations.

At the event, GCB Bank donated GH¢5 million to the national team’s fundraising initiative, further strengthening private sector support for Ghana’s participation at the global tournament.

According to Adams, the collaboration between government agencies and corporate sponsors has been instrumental in ensuring Ghanaian fans will have access to live World Cup coverage.

“Thanks to the support from government and the fundraising drive, we have secured broadcast rights to air the World Cup live on selected media platforms,” he stated.

The fundraising initiative was launched to help mobilize financial resources for the Black Stars ahead of the expanded tournament, which will be staged across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

In addition to supporting the team’s preparations, officials are also focused on generating national excitement and unity as Ghana gets ready for another appearance on football’s biggest stage.

With anticipation continuing to grow ahead of the competition, the development is expected to bring excitement and reassurance to fans eager to follow the Black Stars throughout the tournament.
