Black Stars attend FIFA briefings on refereeing and sporting integrity before the World Cup

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup draws closer, players and officials of Ghana’s Black Stars have immersed themselves in FIFA workshops focused on refereeing guidelines and sporting integrity.

These briefing sessions aimed to bring teams up to speed on the latest interpretations of the Laws of the Game, as well as the refereeing standards and officiating protocols for the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The program also addressed crucial topics such as fair play, anti-corruption measures, and the upholding of sporting integrity throughout the competition.

By taking part, Ghana joins FIFA’s wider mission to keep all qualified nations well-informed before the tournament, aiming for consistent officiating and fewer disputes on the pitch.

Head coach Carlos Queiroz, his technical team, and the Black Stars squad threw themselves into the sessions, sharpening their focus as they gear up for the global stage.

Armed with fresh insights, the Black Stars look to put their learning into action as they kick off their Group L journey against Panama on June 17, followed by clashes with England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
