Black Stars arrive safely in Toronto ahead of Panama opener

Ghana’s Black Stars have touched down in Toronto, stepping into the final stretch of preparations for their much-anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup opener against Panama.

The team departed its training base in Providence, Rhode Island, on Monday and landed in the Canadian city later that day ahead of the crucial Group L clash at BMO Field on Wednesday.

Carlos Queiroz and his squad spent the last few days in Rhode Island after arriving from Virginia, sharpening their tactics, strengthening team bonds, and gathering momentum for the tournament ahead.

Touching down in Toronto marks the beginning of match-week preparations, as players and staff set their sights firmly on clinching a strong result in their World Cup debut.

The Black Stars are scheduled to hold an official training session at BMO Field on Tuesday, allowing the squad to familiarize itself with the venue before facing Panama.

Ghana kicks off its Group L journey against the Central Americans on June 17, aiming to launch their fifth World Cup appearance with a triumphant start.
