Kim Lars Björkegren, head coach of the Ghana women’s national football team, has named a 22-player squad for the team’s training camp during the June FIFA international window as preparations continue for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The camping exercise is a key part of the Black Queens’ build-up to the continental tournament. The technical team is focused on assembling a strong and well-balanced squad capable of competing at the highest level.
As part of the program, the Black Queens will play several international friendly matches. This gives the coaching staff a chance to assess player performances and strengthen team cohesion.
The upcoming fixtures will allow the technical team to evaluate tactical adjustments and monitor the development of both established players and emerging talents within the squad.
Coach Björkegren has selected a blend of experienced campaigners and promising young prospects for the camp as he continues to shape the team ahead of future competitions.
The technical bench remains committed to improving the squad’s consistency, competitiveness, and readiness for the challenges ahead on the international stage.
The June training camp also reflects the Ghana Football Association’s continued efforts to keep the Black Queens active through regular international engagements as they prepare for WAFCON.
The invited players are expected to report to camp in the coming days to begin preparations during the FIFA women’s international window.
The full squad list has been released by the technical team.
