Mawuko Afadzinu, the President of the Ghana Table Tennis Federation (GTTF), has been appointed as the Executive Vice President (Marketing) of the African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF).
During the elective congress on October 15 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Mr. Afadzinu emerged as the winner with 22 votes, surpassing Uganda’s Robert Jjagwe, who received 18 votes.
Mr. Afadzinu, a seasoned expert in brand transformation, is at the helm of the ATTF’s rebranding efforts. His aim is to steer the organization towards a more sustainable and successful future.
“Our collective efforts will metamorphose the African Table Tennis Federation into a dynamic, globally recognized brand. This transformation will attract increased investment, generate sustainable revenue streams, and position table tennis as a leading sport across the continent,” Afadzinu passionately declared following his election.
He highlighted that sport, as a catalyst for global progress, will bring about positive transformations within the 54-member federation, amplifying the dynamism of table tennis in Africa.
“By showcasing the ATTF as a beacon of youth empowerment, community development, and social change, we will use our beloved sport to unlock opportunities for growth, partnerships, and development across Africa,” he added.
Mr Afadzinu is the current Administrator of the Year for the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) and the chair of the Sustainability Committee of the International Table Tennis Federation.
