Hearts of Oak have appointed Serbian coach Nebojsa Kapor as head coach on a two-year contract, describing the move as the start of “a new era” ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Phobians stated that Kapor’s appointment follows an extensive recruitment process focused on restoring the club’s position as a leading force in Ghanaian and African football.
Kapor, a UEFA-licensed coach, is familiar with Ghanaian football, having managed Tema Youth, Bechem United, and Medeama SC. His experience in the Ghana Premier League and reputation for developing young talent and encouraging attacking football made him the preferred candidate.
Hearts of Oak stated that Kapor’s football philosophy aligns with the board’s long-term vision to rebuild the club and achieve sustained success. The club noted that Kapor’s appointment is the first of several anticipated changes within the technical department as preparations intensify for the upcoming season.
“The Board is confident Coach Kapor has the leadership and technical competence to lead Hearts of Oak into a new era of stability and success,” the club said in a statement.
Hearts have called on supporters to fully back Kapor and his technical team as they pursue domestic success and aim to re-establish the club on the continental stage.
Kapor now assumes responsibility for reviving the Phobians after a disappointing season, with high expectations that his knowledge of Ghanaian football will guide the club back to success.
