Ghana national team ambassador Asamoah Gyan paid a spirited visit to the Black Queens in camp, delivering heartfelt encouragement as the team ramps up preparations for their upcoming international challenges.
The former Black Stars captain joined the squad on the training pitch in Accra, sharing his rich experience and inspiring the players as they set their sights on the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Black Queens had initially been scheduled to participate in a three-nation tournament as part of their preparations, but have since withdrawn from the competition and will continue their training program locally.
Even with the change in plans, the team’s determination to prepare for the continental championship and chase their goals in Morocco remains unwavering.
The 2026 WAFCON will unfold from July 26 to August 16, and Ghana is eager to reclaim its place among the giants of African women’s football.
Gyan’s visit injected fresh inspiration into the squad as they continue their preparations in Accra, with the former Ghana captain poised to play a pivotal role in motivating the players ahead of the tournament.
