TP Mazembe head coach Slimane Raho insists the CAF Champions League preliminary round clash with Medeama Sporting Club remains wide open, despite his side’s first-leg advantage.
The DR Congo champions edged Medeama 1-0 at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa on Sunday, snatching victory with a dramatic late goal.
Raho urged his players to stay focused, reminding them their mission is far from over, while also applauding Medeama’s impressive first-leg performance.
“Medeama SC is a very good team, a very, very good team. I felt it in the game. We (TP Mazembe) would have to confirm qualification in Lubumbashi,” Raho said after the match.
The Mazembe coach believes his team must summon the same courage and sharpness when they meet Medeama again in the decisive second leg.
“It’s about courage and being intelligent, and that is what we showed today. We will show more of this in the return leg,” he added.
Medeama now travel to Lubumbashi determined to overturn the deficit and keep their CAF Champions League dreams alive.
The Ghanaian champions are eager to advance, with their sights set on securing another coveted place in the competition’s group stage.
