D.C. United battled to a 2-2 draw with Nashville SC in an exciting MLS match at GEODIS Park on Saturday night.
D.C. United showed resilience, coming from behind against one of the Eastern Conference’s top teams. Nashville started strong and controlled much of the early play.
Nashville scored first in the opening half after steady pressure, but D.C. United responded well and slowly got back into the game with quick transitions and aggressive pressing.
United scored the equalizer before halftime, leading to a second half with chances for both teams. Nashville took the lead again midway through the second half and looked set to win in front of their home fans.
But D.C. United kept fighting and scored another equalizer late in the game to earn a valuable point on the road.
Goalkeeper Sean Johnson made several key saves late in the match to help secure the draw, while D.C. United’s attackers kept pressuring Nashville on the counterattack.
This result extends D.C. United’s strong run in MLS and keeps them in the playoff race, while Nashville stays near the top of the conference.
