Ghana star Mohammed Kudus could spend three months out after suffering an injury setback

Ghana and Tottenham have been hit with more bad news, as Mohammed Kudus might miss the rest of the season and the upcoming World Cup.

Kudus, 25, has not played since January 4, when he left the field with a thigh injury during a 1–1 draw with Sunderland. Former Spurs manager Thomas Frank, who left the club in February, said the injury caused serious damage to Kudus’s tendon and quadriceps, keeping him out until at least early April.

Tottenham had hoped Kudus would return after last week’s international break. But new medical checks show his injury has worsened, and he might need surgery. This means Kudus could also miss Ghana’s World Cup games this summer.

Ghana will start its group-stage matches against Panama on June 18, then play England and Croatia.

This news is a big setback for new Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi, who will lead his first game this weekend when Tottenham visit Sunderland. Spurs are currently 17th in the Premier League, only one point ahead of West Ham, who are close to the relegation zone.

Kudus’ injury is also a big worry for Ghana as the FIFA World Cup approaches. The Black Stars’ coaches will closely monitor his recovery, hoping he can get fit in time to play. With his growing role, losing him would be a major blow for both his club and his country.
