Early discussions are underway for Asante Kotoko to rehire Charles Kwablan Akonnor

Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko and Charles Kwablan Akonnor are in talks regarding his potential comeback as manager for the 2025/26 season.
The club fired Prosper Narteh Ogum and appointed former player Abdul Karim Zito as interim coach for the remainder of the season.
Zito’s objective is to win the Premier League and FA Cup titles.
Despite four matches remaining, Kotoko are reportedly negotiating with Akonnor, their former coach (2018-19).
However, the report also states that negotiations are in their initial phases and that the parties involved have not yet reached a mutual agreement.
Asante Kotoko defeated Berekum Chelsea 1-0 in the FA Cup semifinals at TNA Park to advance to the final.
This weekend, their focus shifts to the Ghana Premier League, where they’ll play Dreams FC at the Tuba Astro Turf for Matchday 31.
