Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum of Asante Kotoko implores his team to remember Yaw Frimpong (“Nana Pooley”), who was fatally stabbed during their February 2nd game against Nsoatreman FC.
After a week-long suspension, football activities at Kotoko recommenced on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Adako Jachie. Ogum addressed his squad, urging them to honor the memory of devoted club supporter Pooley with their performance.
“It’s unfortunate, but we must honor him by putting our best into every training session and match. We owe it to him, and I believe we are ready to do that,” Ogum stated.
He highlighted Pooley’s painful loss and asserted that Kotoko’s pursuit of league success would be the finest tribute.
“It won’t be easy to move on, but the best way we can truly honor him is by working hard, winning games, and ultimately securing the league title in his memory. Let’s stay united, stay focused, and get the results,” he added.
