CAF has reported a major financial improvement, cutting its deficit from $28.9 million to $9.2 million in the 2022-2023 fiscal year.
This information was revealed at the 46th CAF Ordinary Assembly in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, chaired by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe.
The financial progress represents a major improvement compared to CAF’s deficit of $45 million from the previous year.
This positive trend is largely due to the CAF management’s strategic reforms in 2021, which aimed to enhance the organization’s financial health.
The CAF expects a net profit of $11.7 million in the 2024-2025 fiscal year, marking the first anticipated financial surplus in years.
This surplus will strengthen CAF’s ability to invest in African footballCAF.
Increased revenue from media rights and sponsorship deals linked to CAF competitions are key factors behind the improved financial performance.
The organization’s revenue growth has allowed it to double financial support to Member Associations, increasing annual subventions from $200,000 in 2021 to $400,000 in 2024-2025.
The majority of CAF’s spending, 84%, is allocated to advancing African football through prize money, competition organization, and development programs.
The sport’s growth and development across the continent are anticipated to be boosted by financial stability.
