Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, the Head of Public Relations and Strategy at the GFA, is fully committed to ensuring the Black Stars achieve positive results in the AFCON qualifiers.
The senior national team will begin their training camp on Monday, September 2, in Accra, before facing Angola and Niger.
The Baba Yara Stadium will host the Ghana vs Angola match on Thursday, September 5, followed by Ghana’s match against Niger on September 9 in Morocco, both as part of their Group F qualifiers for the 2025 AFCON.
Mortgage stressed the importance of performance and the pressure it entails in an interview with ChannelOne Sports.
“Pressure is the name of the game. Everybody is under pressure. We (GFA) believe in the fact that there is still love and energy toward our Black Stars. So, for those administering the game and those in leadership positions, we cannot see the work our 12th man, the supporters, are doing and just sit in a place of comfort. No way,” he stated.
He emphasized once again the GFA’s dedication to supporting the technical team and players in providing the level of football that Ghanaians deserve.
“We are keen to ensure that we at our level as administrators do everything we can to support the technical team, to support the players, and give Ghanaians the quality of football they deserve,” he added.
Building on the team’s recent triumphs, head coach Otto Addo seeks to continue their success following back-to-back wins against Angola and the Central African Republic in June’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The Black Stars are determined to enhance their AFCON performance following difficulties in previous competitions.
