Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, disclosed his tactical instructions to striker Albert Amoah during Sunday’s Super Clash against Hearts of Oak.
Ogum’s strategy for Amoah was to play him as a lone striker, utilizing his pace and movement to target the spaces left by the Hearts of Oak defense. “We realized they were direct in their approach. So we decided to leave Albert [Amoah] on top so they could have three men and then launch the attack,” Ogum explained.
Kotoko won 1-0 thanks to Amoah’s winning goal in the 90th minute, a direct result of Ogum’s tactical instructions.
Kotoko is now sixth in the league with 21 points thanks to Amoah’s seventh goal of the season.
Amoah’s performance impressed Ogum, who praised his ability to follow instructions and capitalize on opportunities. “Albert [Amoah] played very well, and his goal was a testament to his hard work and dedication,” Ogum said.
Kotoko’s victory against Hearts of Oak lifted their morale, and Ogum is confident that they can leverage this momentum to achieve their league objectives.
