Gyan named ambassador for Ghana’s national teams and youth football

Legendary Ghana national football team striker Asamoah Gyan has officially been unveiled as ambassador for Ghana’s national teams and colts football.

As a former Black Stars captain, Gyan is expected to use his experience and reputation to help grow and promote football at every level in Ghana.

Gyan, who is still Ghana’s top scorer, was officially introduced at a ceremony at the Pelican Hotel in Accra on Wednesday evening.

The event drew several notable guests, including some of Gyan’s former Black Stars teammates and Ghana Football Association president Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku.

As ambassador, Gyan will lead promotional campaigns, connect with fans, and help build support for the Black Stars as they prepare for the FIFA World Cup in North America.

He will also represent the Ghana Football Association at official events and help promote the national teams and youth football.

A touching moment during the ceremony was when Gyan watched a documentary of his memorable goals for Ghana, which drew loud applause and admiration from the audience.

Gyan, who once played for Sunderland AFC, scored 51 goals for the Black Stars and represented Ghana at the 2006, 2010, and 2014 FIFA World Cups. He made history in 2006 by scoring Ghana’s first-ever World Cup goal against the Czech Republic.
