The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has named Gold Fields Ghana Limited as the new main sponsor of the Ghana Women’s Premier League. This partnership gives women’s football in Ghana a strong commercial boost.
With this agreement, Gold Fields replaces Malta Guinness as the main sponsor after Malta Guinness’s deal ended. This marks a new chapter for the top league.
The new partnership is set to bring more investment into the Women’s Premier League. The GFA aims to make the league more competitive, visible, and sustainable.
The GFA called the deal a major milestone in its efforts to grow women’s football through strong partnerships.
“The partnership represents a significant investment in the women’s game and underscores the GFA’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the Women’s Premier League through strategic collaborations that enhance its competitiveness, visibility and long-term sustainability,” the statement said.
The Football Association thanked Gold Fields Ghana Limited for supporting women’s football and welcomed the company to the Ghana football community.
This sponsorship arrives as women’s football in Ghana is making great strides. The Black Queens are getting ready for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, and the Black Maidens have just qualified for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup after beating Senegal in the final round.
The GFA said it will share more details about the sponsorship, new league branding, and plans for implementation in the next few weeks.
The partnership should give clubs important financial support and help raise the profile of the Ghana Women’s Premier League as the association works to grow women’s football.
