The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee has confirmed Egypt as the host nation for the next edition of the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations, which will also serve as the continent’s qualifying tournament for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The decision was ratified during Thursday’s CAF Executive Committee meeting, paving the way for Egypt to host one of Africa’s premier youth competitions as the race for Olympic qualification begins.
The tournament will carry added importance, with participating nations competing not only for the continental title but also for coveted places at the 2028 Olympic football tournament in the United States.
