KRC Genk has agreed with Al Qadsiah to sign Ghanaian striker Jerry Afriyie on a permanent deal.
The 19-year-old is expected to sign a five-year contract with Genk, ending his brief time in Saudi Arabia and returning to Belgium after a successful loan at RAAL La Louvière.
This transfer follows reports from GHANASoccernet.com that Afriyie would leave Al Qadsiah this summer amid interest from several Belgian clubs. Genk have secured the signing of one of Ghana’s top young prospects.
Afriyie returned to Al Qadsiah at the end of last season after a breakthrough year with RAAL La Louvière, where he became one of the league’s standout young attackers.
Known for his pace, movement, technical skill, and finishing, the Ghana international had a strong 10-month loan that drew attention from clubs throughout Belgium.
He played 31 matches in all competitions, totaling 2,497 minutes, with five goals and one assist, contributing significantly to La Louvière’s successful campaign.
