Ghana’s Black Princesses have booked their place at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after battling to a 1-1 draw with Uganda women’s national under-20 football team at the FUFA Stadium in Kampala on Saturday.
The result, coupled with their 2-1 first-leg victory in Accra, saw Ghana progress comfortably on aggregate.
Uganda started brightly, breaking the deadlock in the sixth minute and heading into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
Ghana responded with greater urgency after the break, and Linda Owusu Ansah equalized in the 78th minute to level the score and confirm qualification.
The result continues Ghana’s strong tradition in youth women’s football, marking an eighth straight appearance at the U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The 2026 tournament is scheduled to take place in Poland later this year.
