Following their loss to Hohoe United on Sunday, Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Karim Zito, apologized to the club’s supporters.
The Porcupine Warriors suffered a second loss, continuing their concerning form.
After the game, Zito acknowledged their slow start was a factor, stating:
“We didn’t play well in the first half, and I’m not happy about that. That is why I want to apologise to the fans. We are sorry, and we promise to make the necessary amendments.”
Although the result was frustrating, the experienced coach says he is still confident Kotoko can contend.
“I haven’t lost hope of winning the league, and we will bounce back stronger,” he assured.
Kotoko’s recent performances have raised concerns among fans and analysts. The Reds have one win, four draws, and two losses in their previous seven games.
Additionally, they haven’t won in their last four league games, indicating a loss of momentum at a critical point.
With 21 points, the Porcupine Warriors are now third in the Ghana Premier League, five points adrift of leaders Medeama SC.
Dreams FC will test the club, which must respond with a win after fans called for consistency. Zito’s apology might offer temporary comfort, but Kotoko’s title race depends on actual results, not words.
