FC Samartex 1996 have appointed Nana Kweku Agyemang as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The former league champions confirmed Agyemang’s arrival as preparations continue for the new campaign. He replaces Christopher Ennin, who left the club at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Agyemang joins the Timber Club after a successful spell with Vision FC, where he earned a reputation as one of the Ghana Premier League’s brightest young coaches. He was widely praised for his tactical acumen, commitment to player development, and ability to turn teams into competitive outfits.
His standout achievement came last season when he guided Vision FC away from relegation danger. He took charge of a side battling in the lower half of the table and inspired a remarkable turnaround. Agyemang led the club to safety with disciplined and resilient performances.
Samartex will be hoping he can build on that success as they look to re-establish themselves among the league’s top contenders. His appointment reflects the club’s ambition to assemble a competitive squad capable of challenging for honors in the upcoming season.
Known for his structured tactical approach and emphasis on discipline, teamwork, and continuous player improvement, Agyemang is expected to bring fresh ideas during pre-season. The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season is set to kick off between September 4 and 7, with Samartex aiming to make an immediate impact under their new manager. The campaign will conclude on the weekend of May 28–31, 2027.
