The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has compassionately adopted the children of the deceased Asante Kotoko fan, Nana Pooley, and will fund their education.
A devoted Asante Kotoko fan, Nana Pooley, was fatally stabbed in Nsoatre during the team’s Week 19 game against Nsoatreman FC.
The deceased fan left behind a wife and four children.
Otumfuo, Asante Kotoko’s Life Patron, has pledged to support the bereaved family by funding the children’s education.
Nana Akwasi Awuah, Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s IMC, delivered the announcement to the family, conveying Otumfuo’s dedication to the children’s well-being.
“The Asantehene has taken a personal interest in the welfare of your children,” Nana Awuah assured.
Meanwhile, a U.S.-based group of Asante Kotoko fans will support the late fan’s wife and children.
US-based supporters of the club, spearheaded by Chief CK Gyamfi, have pledged $100 apiece to a fund aiding the deceased’s family.
