Attram De Visser Academy, a Division One League team, created history by advancing to the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup semifinals for the first time after a dramatic quarterfinal victory against PAC Academy at Baba Yara Stadium on Saturday.
PAC Academy’s upset win over Medeama SC and Attram De Visser’s victory against Bibiani Gold Stars in the Round of 16 set the stage for this match between the two teams.
The quarterfinal clash proved to be a hard-fought contest, with both sides showing determination and resilience. Evans Sarfo’s penalty in the 63rd minute put PAC Academy ahead.
However, under the guidance of former Ghanaian international Godwin Attram, Attram De Visser showed determination and relentlessly fought for an equalizer.
A corner kick in stoppage time (90+3) led to Gabriel Matumassey’s game-tying goal, rewarding their persistence and sending the match into a penalty shootout.
Attram De Visser remained calm during the shootout, winning 4-3 and advancing to the semifinals.
