The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is said to have begun discussions with the camp of FC Barcelona’s rising star Jesse Eugen Bisiwu, aiming to entice the highly regarded winger to join the Black Stars ranks.
Reports suggest the GFA has engaged in multiple talks with Bisiwu’s representatives in recent months, as officials weigh his eligibility and consider his international prospects.
The 18-year-old, who is of Ghanaian descent through his parents, has previously represented Belgium at U-17 level but remains eligible to switch allegiance and represent Ghana at senior international level.
Bisiwu recently moved from Club Brugge to European giants FC Barcelona, where he is expected to continue his development within the club’s youth system.
Over the weekend, the gifted winger boosted his rising profile by netting two goals in Barcelona’s commanding 5-2 win over FC Basel during a pre-season friendly at St. Jakob-Park.
His standout performances and immense potential have put him firmly on the Ghana FA’s radar, with the association reportedly eyeing a Black Stars call-up for upcoming international fixtures.
Yet Ghana may have to contend with competition for his allegiance, as the Belgian Football Association is also reportedly closely tracking the young talent’s next move.
Bisiwu now stands on the brink of a pivotal choice, deciding which nation’s colors he will wear as his promising career unfolds.
Landing the Barcelona prospect would give Ghana a thrilling new attacking weapon, as the Black Stars push forward in their quest to nurture and unleash the next wave of footballing talent.
