Colombia booked their spot in the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a tough 1-0 win against DR Congo in their second Group K game.
Colombia controlled most of the match and finally broke through in the 76th minute, when Daniel Muñoz scored the winning goal after a pass from substitute Juan Quintero.
Colombia had several chances during the game, but two goals were ruled out for offside and DR Congo’s goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi-Nzau made some strong saves.
The DR Congo almost scored a late equalizer in stoppage time, but Camilo Vargas kept Colombia ahead with a crucial save. This gives Colombia a second consecutive win and confirms their place in the knockout stage of the tournament.
