England manager Thomas Tuchel admitted his side were frustrated after being held to a goalless draw by Ghana in their Group L clash at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Three Lions dominated possession and created better chances but could not break through a disciplined Ghana defence and an inspired Benjamin Asare in goal.
Tuchel highlighted Harry Kane’s missed opportunity as a key moment in the match.
“Normally, that is a clear goal for us. It was a big chance, and it would have been deserved. We knew it would be difficult,” he said.
The German coach also praised Ghana’s defensive organization, noting that the Black Stars sat deep in a 4-5-1 formation, making life difficult for his players.
“They were more defensive than in their first match. We grew into the game and increased our intensity but couldn’t get the reward,” Tuchel added.
England will now turn their attention to their final Group L fixture against Panama on June 27 at MetLife Stadium.
