After wrapping up a demanding training camp and a flurry of activities in Wales, Ghana’s senior national team left Cardiff on Wednesday, June 3. Now settled in Providence, Rhode Island, the squad and their technical team are poised to embark on the next chapter of their World Cup journey.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz traveled with the final 26-man squad, which was officially announced on June 1 after the conclusion of the team’s European training camp.
The Black Stars completed a crucial stage of their preparations on June 2 with a friendly match against Wales at Cardiff City Stadium. Caleb Yirenkyi opened the scoring for Ghana in the second half, but a late goal from Lewis Koumas ensured the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Black Stars, who are set to make their fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup, have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia. They will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 before taking on England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
