Ghana international Thomas Partey is set to leave Villarreal CF at the end of the season, with the club reportedly opting not to extend his contract.
The midfielder joined the Spanish side last year after his deal with Arsenal expired, signing a one-year contract that included an option for a further season.
However, the 31-year-old has struggled to secure a regular starting spot, largely due to recurring minor injuries that have affected his fitness.
Although he has made 30 appearances in all competitions, Partey has been unable to establish a consistent role in the team.
With the season approaching its end, Villarreal are said to be unwilling to trigger the extension clause, meaning the Ghanaian is likely to leave as a free agent this summer.
Despite this, the former Atlético Madrid star is still expected to feature in Ghana’s plans for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Partey is widely tipped to be included in the Black Stars squad as they gear up for another campaign on football’s biggest stage.
