Carlos Queiroz, the new head coach of Ghana, believes the Black Stars can make a big impact at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, even though there is little time to prepare.
Queiroz, who had been an assistant manager at Manchester United, took over as head coach in April 2026 after Otto Addo left the role.
Even though he has not yet worked with the full team, Queiroz has already shared his expectations. He wants the players to show discipline, focus, and commitment.
“Forty days to represent the pride, passion, and dreams of Ghana. Total focus, maximum discipline, and complete sacrifice. No distractions, no excuses, only a commitment to excellence,” he stated.
He also encouraged the players to aim high and perform at their best. He stressed that unity, discipline, and paying attention to details are important for success.
In the meantime, Queiroz has picked a squad for the international friendly against Mexico later this month.
He is expected to name his final World Cup squad in early June, before the tournament starts in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
