Carlos Queiroz has announced his first squad as Black Stars head coach for Ghana’s upcoming friendly against Mexico in May.
The squad includes players from the Ghana Premier League, U23 prospects, and experienced returnees like Felix Afena-Gyan from Amedspor.
Majeed Ashimeru, Razak Simpson, and Ibrahim Osman from Birmingham City are also back in the national team.
Ashimeru, now playing for RAAL La Louvière, returns after a long injury that kept him out of action for both club and country.
Afena-Gyan is back in the squad for the first time since he played against Trinidad and Tobago in the Unity Cup in London last May.

Young players like Abdul Aziz Issah from FC Barcelona B, Ebenezer Annan from AS Saint-Étienne, Ibrahim Osman, and Paul Reverson from Ajax have also been selected.

Salim Adams of Medeama SC leads the home-based players, joined by Ebenezer Abban of Heart of Lions, Ebenezer Adade of Dreams FC, and Nations FC captain Razak Simpson.

Ghana will play Mexico on May 22, 2026, as part of their preparations for upcoming international competitions.
