Former Asante Kotoko chairman Herbert Mensah believes the Black Stars will face a difficult battle at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana will play in the World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. They are in Group L with Panama, England, and Croatia.
Although the technical team’s goal is to reach the semi-finals, Mensah is not sure Ghana can do it and warned that the tournament will be tough.
“The Black Stars have always had to deal with administrative challenges, yet the players continue to give their best to achieve something special,” he told Kumasi-based LUV FM.
“However, I think this tournament will be particularly difficult. Given the group they are in, anything can happen,” he added.
Ghana will start its World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17. They will then play England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
To prepare, Carlos Queiroz’s team will play Mexico later this month, followed by Wales on June 2.
The Black Stars were knocked out in the group stage at the 2014 and 2022 World Cups, so this time they hope to make it past the first round.
