Paintsil scores as Galaxy held by Whitecaps

Joseph Paintsil maintained his impressive MLS form by scoring for LA Galaxy in their 1-1 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday night.

The Black Stars winger, recently back from injury, is gradually regaining his sharpness and has now recorded two goals and two assists in seven league appearances this season.

After a subdued first half, Paintsil broke the deadlock shortly after the restart.

The 26-year-old combined effectively with Lucas Sanabria before calmly finishing to hand the Galaxy a deserved lead on home soil.

LA Galaxy appeared set to claim all three points, but the visitors struck late. With nine minutes remaining, Mathias Laborda rose to head in the equaliser for Vancouver Whitecaps, ensuring the points were shared.

The match also featured Ghanaian forward Emmanuel Afriyie Sabbi, who represented the Whitecaps as they secured a valuable away result.

Paintsil’s return to form will be a significant boost for both club and country, as he continues to show the attacking quality that made him one of LA Galaxy’s standout performers last season.

The draw keeps LA Galaxy on a steady path in their campaign, while Vancouver Whitecaps remain firmly competitive in the Western Conference standings.
