The Black Stars’ budget will be made public before the tournament starts – Kofi Adams

The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has guaranteed that the 2026 World Cup budget for the Black Stars will be made public.

The tournament, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico this summer, will be Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance.

Although some football stakeholders criticized the previous disclosure of qualifier match costs, Adams confirmed in an interview that transparency will continue throughout World Cup preparations.

“We will make the World Cup budget public; nothing will be hidden,” the Buem constituency MP told Asempa FM.

“The government does not intend to profit; this is about giving Ghana what it deserves.”

The minister added that the number of supporters sent to the tournament will depend on the funds raised through the Sports Fund.

“The funds we will raise will determine the number of fans we take to the World Cup.”

Ghana, in Group L, will open against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, face England in Boston, and conclude the group stage on June 27 in Philadelphia against Croatia.
